Event Notification Systems Experiences
ATM Event Management System
i2b's founding partners designed, developed and implemented an Event Management
System ("EMS") for Diebold Inc. of Canton OH, while under contract with RDS
Tasks International Inc.
The Event Management System (EMS) is designed for ATM network fault management.
EMS collects and reacts to all fault and alert messages from the ATM network
and generates dispatch calls to support personnel over various communication
channels (Fax, Pager, email, Voice-IVR).EMS handles everything from cash out
and paper jams to burglary alarms.
EMS's intelligent state driven architecture allows it to be completely and
easily customized to meet each clients specific operational parameters.
Diebold patened the Event management System on November 16, 1999
(United
States Patient #5,984,178), listing i2b's principles as the Inventors.
A related patent covering ATM cash management features and a system to facilitate replenish cash in ATMs was granted on April 26, 2006
(United
States Patient #7,036,048), listing i2b's principles as the Inventors.
A second related patent covering and ATM Customer marketing System was granted on May 2, 2006
(United
States Patient #7,039,600), listing i2b's principles as the Inventors.
Some of the implementations of the Event Management system were:

School Closing Alert System
i2b partnered with RDS Tasks International Inc. of Canton,OH for the
development of the GeoAlert School Closing Alert System. GeoAlert, although
primarily focused on school closing alerts, also offers custom alert services
for schools, individuals, businesses, and government agencies. This is a pure
B-to-C site which not only has Web interface, but also has a substantial amount
of back-end event dispatching logic. Upon receipt of a closing event the system
will automatically notify all TV and Radio stations who's coverage area
includes the county containing the closing entity's county. Notification is
accomplished via EDI file exchange over HTTP or FTP, and by email. In addition
all customers who have subscribed to the alert notification service will
receive either of: a telephone call, a page, or an e-mail depending upon the
options selected during the sign-up process.
